My husband and I teamed up again for Jared and Jennifer’s wedding. Jennifer is my aunt, but is more like an older sister. Jared and her are such an amazingly happy couple….some people say it makes them sick….but we all know they’re just as happy for the couple. The wedding was held at the Rose Garden in New Orleans, La. It was so beautiful, with chandeliers and soft lighting, even a fireplace as a centerpiece. She was a beautiful bride and the groom didn’t look too shabby either ;)

It was a long and hectic and wonderfully romantic day (especially as photographers), and I hope we captured just how special those two are to each other. Jared, you are now my Uncle Jared and I know you will continue to take care of my aunt’s body and soul just as you have been since ya’ll met. We are blessed to have you in our family now.

A featured gallery of the wedding will be posted on my website soon, so keep watch. But for a sneak peak, look below :)

My husband and I joined forces to photograph Ryan and Liz’s wedding.  It was gorgeous!!!  The wedding and reception were all in the same room at Turkey Run Inn, which in itself is a beautiful place.  It was fall themed: there were pumpkins (most elegantly placed) in the room and fall leaves in the bouquets.  It was a really fun time and I really enjoyed being able to work with my husband.  We bounced ideas off of each other and had the company of each other in a place where we only knew the bride and groom.  But enough about us!

The first time we met Ryan and Liz we spent time going over specifics for the wedding…then we found out they are gamers!  Wahoo, needless to say they spent over 2 hours talking with us and we had a blast.  It also really helped us get to know their personalities and be able to focus on what types of shots we thought they would enjoy.  I must admit I did not cry at my own wedding, but their personalized vows to each other had a lump in everyone’s throats!  After the wedding we all walked to a look-out area behind the inn.  It was beautiful and the colorful fall leaves in the trees, red bridesmaid dresses, and fall bouquets all complimented each other so nicely.

During the reception Ryan took off his tux jacket.  He had on a black shirt, white vest and white tie…he looked like quite the mobster!  Near the end of the reception he also brought out a fedora hat with a white band around it.  It really matched his mobster look.  Pics of this ensemble will be posted here soon!  Is it needless to say Liz was stunning in her dress?  Well she was!

It was such a fun, relaxed, and romantic day.

We wish all the best to Ryan and Liz!

Here’s a teaser for you, more pictures coming soon!!!

On second thought, I’m just going to put up a ‘wedding’ gallery on the home site.  Click HERE.

Yes, that’s right I said trio. And these three children are all under 5 years old, with the youngest not even a month old. My husband and I have been friends with the Sabelhaus family for almost 2 years. When their 3rd child was born, I jumped at the chance to have a session with them.

We had one tiny crying moment (which was of course captured, *see pic below). That being said, these three were such little models. They are so photogenic, and you can see how much they love each other and their baby brother. I went to their house in the evening when the sun was setting and it made some beautiful shots. The little girl was animated and took great candid pictures, while the older brother seemed to have that ‘model’ look, staring directly at the camera and giving a smile or serious face. It was so fun working with the whole family, scrambling around trying to pose and playing at the same time. I was also excited because I was able to experiment with the new white ‘background’ for the baby.

All in all, it was a great time spent with some great friends. Here are some of my favorites that didn’t make it onto the website:

Here’s a fun one I did: I kept the brown color in the brownie and his eyes and have everything else black and white (he has some pretty dark brown eyes, so you can’t see it there too much)

I had the privilege of doing another session with my friend’s toddler, Kaydence. I shot her 1 year old pictures, and couldn’t wait to get some more shots of this beautiful child. This time mommy (Jessica) and Aunt Suzi wanted some pics with her. She has the sweetest, friendliest personality and I hope these portraits show that. Unfortunately, we had to cut the session a little short because it was blistering hot, and we were all drained within 30 minutes. Kaydence was a trooper and she had some great pics to show for it.  The first one is my absolute favorite….it will be in the gallery soon:

Here’s one right before we called it a day :)
Kaydence, you are always a joy to be around!

The last one I’m showing I did by just playing around
in photoshop with a picture that I liked (she has such a sweet face):

I recently came back from a trip to La to visit my family. I had several chances to take tons of pictures, and that’s just what I did. I was specifically asked to do a session with my beautiful niece Jillie (Bug for short). She turned 5 this March. Jillie-Bug is a wonderful mix of princess and tomboy. She will wear a ‘spinney dress’ and dance for hours (better than me I must say) and the next moment she’ll bait a hook with a worm…with the same dress on. Since I moved away from her 1½ years ago, this was a great opportunity for me to document this stage of her life. She brought a couple of pretty dresses but we used only one.  One day we went to our camp down the river, and the other we went to my parent’s yard on a beautiful & sunny, but hot July day. Here are some of my favorites from those two afternoons:

I even got a ‘model shot’ from her dad when we were at our camp down the river.

One I worked on in Photoshop:

Hope you enjoy looking at them as I did taking them :)

Prom is such a special time for high schoolers.  I was excited to do a session with Heather & Austin for her senior prom.  She had a very fashionable hot pink dress on and Austin’s tux matched perfectly.  Heather has such beautiful skin tones in these pictures I just had to show her off…oh yeah, Austin looked handsome too (*wink, wink*)
